The Joseph Guiteau Foundation takes action to increase awareness, mostly in education- and environment-related fields. Its main areas of interventions are the fight against poverty and the fight against environmental degradation, which are two interrelated phenomena.
PPED: Parliamentary Program for Environment and Development
In this program, we support parliamentarians who are responsive to environmental and sustainable development issues. Our support will allow them to harmonize policies and legislations regarding forestry, environment and sustainable development.
Periodic collaboration is planned between parliamentarians and local elected representatives to strengthen their capabilities on environmental issues and enable them to find solutions together
WAPED: Women's Action Program for Environment and Development
The WAPED aims at helping women’s groups involved in the fight for environmental protection in rural and urban areas to elaborate the necessary tools to exploit local resources, allowing them to adapt efficiently to the needs of their community regarding environment and sustainable development.
The program also supports the fight against poverty. A financial help is provided to women with low income, allowing them to develop their own activities. This may encourage them not to use natural resources, in which they often find a means of livelihood, in an abusive way.
PIRD: Program for Integrated Rural Development
This program aims at supporting projects developed by organized rural civil society groups, such as farming associations, in order to ensure the sustainable development of these communities, to increase productivity and to help support agriculture.
