Micro-credit project exclusive to women with no income and excluded form the Haitian financial system.
Goal:
Address the financial needs of many women who, in Haiti, are not able to provide sufficient banking guarantees to obtain credit.
Through this micro-credit project, which goal is to improve the local economy, the Joseph Guiteau Foundation will secure micro projects to encourage wealth creation and activity in hard to reach localities or amongst people who live in extreme poverty. Women living in rural areas are the main beneficiaries of this projects.
Good to know: Haitian women, although deprived, do not want us to pity them. They want to work to ensure themselves with a minimum of wellbeing. Therefore, giving them the opportunity to get interest-free, reimbursable funds is better than charity. It shows them respect and allows them dignity.
It is noteworthy that in Haiti, an outstanding number of people survive with less than 1$ US per day. In all the communal sections of the country, countless young children are not schooled; they streak through the hills and become beggars in large cities. Also, a large number of them, who are less than 5 years old, die each day of malnutrition and diseases that could have been prevented. To give a second chance to all these forgotten Haitian children, good politics should focus primarily on helping families, who represent the central factor of successful society. In order to reach women living in rural areas and offer a future to their offspring, the Joseph Guiteau Foundation has implemented this pilot micro-finance initiative, aiming women living in rural areas, who are often the most vulnerable ones.
We count on you to ensure the growth of this fund, which goal is to address the financial needs of many women who, in Haiti, are not able to provide sufficient banking guarantees to obtain credit.
Thank you for helping us. Thank you for your generosity, your donations or subsidizes.
